Cybercrime Law
The 3rd of October, 2012 the beginning of law enforcement cybercrime law. What is the cybercrime law? The cybercrime law is the law to fight pornography, hacking, spamming and identity theft. Be imprisoned up to 12 years who are caught violating this law. Not just that, you might as well be confined only by the like, the comment and share on facebook or twitter two largest social networking sites in the world.
The cybercrime law will allow the authorities to fold, make mention of smth. Irrelevant and collect information on our account it is private or public. Serious problem for us Filipinos because we are in the generation of technology. The internet is connected to us and we need them in our lives.
Law problem because, for example if the account has been hacked and the hacker posted a bad word to another person or otherwise there are no good made with the account. You may be penalized own account, as difficult to prove whether or not that you have made mgasasamang post. There has been a long process before prove that you are innocent.
Hard blind to reality. Blinds us to that false media, papalalain more of the discontinuation of our right to publicize our concerns and notice that corruption in the country. The INTERNET is one of our avenues to let the abuses occurring around us, but how does that now and we fully use our freedom to express our thoughts, and the most important of all, the truth.
The decision is ours if we fight for our human rights or life in peace and we just follow the wrong deeds of our government.
Start your day with Exercise!
October 9, the 3rd year college of multimedia arts did an exercise before they started their lecture. It was funny because it is unusual for college students to do an exercise before the the class starts. Their class was General Psychology maybe that's the reason why they started their class with an exercise, but i don't usually see them doing that, maybe its because the exercise is part of their lecture. That's was my guess but i found out that they were only doing that to release their stress because ever since the first week of october they were busy prepare for finals, even me i was so busy prepare for our finals because our major subjects gave us our finals and we have to work on it the whole finals.
Anyway, it's a good way to start a class by exercise to release all the stress, but not only that exercise can also help you forget the bad things that happened to you, it depends if you're still gonna think of your problem because for me, it works. I go to the gym, not just to work out. Sometimes i go to the gym to release all the stress and problems in my life and after that i felt good. Exercise also helps us Multimedia arts students to concentrate and be ready for the coming work-load.
IC5 Representing INDIA

Monday October 8, we had our Fine Dining Culminating Activity for our class IC5. Actually all IC5 class were in that event. The class professors gave us a theme, each class must have a theme country. In my class (Multimedia Arts & Mass Comm class) we were asigned to use the country India.
The other class represented Japan, China, Philippines etc. All IC5 class must do a presentation and represent their country. The Philippines did a dance presentation of the song "biyahe tayo" and it was the tourism class. The song fits them because they are tourism class and the song Biyahe tayo is a popular song to advertise our country and invite foreginers to visit our country. Our class represented India and we prepared a music video and the song is "Jai-ho". The audience we're laughing so hard because my classmates were so funny in the video (if only you guys can watch the video, it so hilarious). Anyway after the video, our band stringless performed 2 songs but we only performed in acoustic. We performed "what about now" by chris daughtry and JM our lead guitarist was the one who sang that. Everyone was paying attention while JM is singing until JM the switch part of the song, when the song got higher, the audience clapped and and it feels to see them clapping smiling because of the song. I sang "your song" by parokya ni edgar and when i reached the 2nd chorus all the audience sang with me, i couldn't hear them but i can see their lips singing. It feels so good to see them supporting us even though the sound system was so crappy lol.

Day-Off
Saturday night October 6, my friends and I decided to go to Nick's house. We call it our "day-off" because ever since finals started, all of us were so busy working on our school projects, especially because we are graduating students (well most of us). Anyway we decided to go to nick's place and relax, chill and forget about school just for 1 night.
We bought food to cook, playing cards(uno) and Monopoly. Before we play we cooked buttered shrimp and bought drinks, so while we were eating we talked about life on what were gonna do after we graduate, are we still going to hang out even though we're busy at work, something like that. We talked about a lot of things and after all the talking and eating, we played UNO cards until midnight. We had so much fun, to the point that we forgot about our pending projects in school so when i got home i slept with all my heart and then the next day back to normal life again. (cramming)
Hard worker
Thursday October 4, we had our 2nd AVP finals shooting, the scene was interogation where i'm the bad guy. I was being interogated or not being interogated actually being questioned by 3 detectives. The lighting was good, Nick helped us until we're done.
This girl Encar Lopez, was the highlight of that shoot, because for me she did everything she could for the good of our video. Imagine she's the one holding the big round thing (i don't know what it's called) that can diffuse the light and she was holding it until our shoot is done. It a hard job because raising your hands and diffusing the lights, its very tiring. She's not even an actor in that scene, she was just there to diffuse the light. That's why i thank this girl so much.

SGEN Battle of the Bands 2012 Champions!
Last Friday September 28, 2012, the elimination of SGEN Battle of the Bands 2012 happened. There were a lot of members joined, 10 bands tto be exact. 5 bands in junior division and 5 bands in senior division. But only 1 band stood out in the event.
"Wal-wal", a band that represented Southville International School and Colleges and became the champions of SGEN Battle of the Bands 2012. Wal-wal is composed of 5 members, Raphael del Prado (lead guitarist), Julian Sobremente (rhythm guitarist), Vince Mojica (bass guitarist), Lynyrd Matias (drummer) and Milan Virtudes (vocalist). They sang In bloom by Nirvana, Be quiet and Drive by Deftones. Wal-wal caught the attention of the judges and the audience. I think it's because of their performance level on stage and the connection of the band to the audience not the song, because for me it doesn' matter what song you play as long as you can make a connection with the audience the performance will be awesome.
Congratulations Wal-wal band for winning SGEN Battle of the Bands 2012!

It's your Birthday!
Today we have celebrated my youngest brother, Joshua's, 11th birthday. Quite frankly, we didn't plan on celebrating it this day. But we prepared one, anyway. And although everything was prepared like we had chased a bullet, everything went just fine! We did it all just for our "bunso", Joshua. But who is Josh anyway?
Josh, as I mentioned is the youngest of us 4 siblings. He turned 11 today. But not only in our family is he the youngest, but also among his classmates. See, as young as he is, he's on his 6th grade already at Academy of Jesus. Traditionally, kids at 11 are only at their 4th or 5th grade. But he's a little ahead of that.
Also, as everyone would agree, being the youngest has its perks. They always get the best from their parents. In most cases and as seen on TV, they're the spoiled ones in the family. And I think I'm starting to believe that because Josh who always gets the best of favors from our parents. Not that I'm jealous because I understand that he's our baby, our youngest and he won't be forever spoiled anyway. But part of being spoiled is ask anything he wants, whenever he wants it. Although he doesn't get them all, being the bunso, i must say he's got the best of guts to ask. And that's what brought about this party.
Originally, the plan was to celebrate it in the church. Everyone was in agreement including Josh until today, obviously. He had thought that he wanted to celebrate it with us, his family, exclusively before celebrating it with other people. And since that's not such a bad idea and in fact it was a good one, we prepared one. Although the call to celebrate was sudden and the preparations were rushed, everything went fine. The food tasted great, relatives came over too to celebrate with us (which is very rare). Everything was good.
I realized, if Josh hadn't been born today 11 years ago, if he hadn't been the youngest and he hadn't been as he is now, we might not have had this sudden celebration that turned out to be the one of the most worth remembering.

2011 Battle of the Bands
Last year Southville International School and Colleges held its very first SGEN Battle of the Bands. There a lot of bands joined the competition, 13 all in all, so you can imagine how long the battle was. I'm also part of the band that joined the competition.
Stringless band, originally is composed of 5 members i was the drummer before kevin was the bassist and JM still in lead guitar. 1 of us graduated already, our vocalist Pat so we need to replace her and our rhythm guitarist before was Keenee, she stopped school so Me, Kevin and JM are left. We recruited new members in our band and now our band is composed of 6 members Christian our drummer, Mike our keyboardist, Matthew in rhythm guitar, JM in lead guitar, Kevin our vocalist and me the bassist of our band. We first held our auditions last year of october, and we played Stars by Callialily and Mr. Clay by Bamboo. Out of the 13 bands that got in, our band got the attention of the judges, im not sure why but yeah we got in the competition. December 1, 2011 the actual battle, our band was 2nd to perform and my other member are nervous that's why i felt kinda nervous as well because of them. We sang Frailty by Urbandub and Mr Clay by Bamboo, but we didn't just play the song, we change some parts of our song and played our own version of the songs. Maybe that's what got the attention of the judges, because of our originality. So while we were playing Frailty which is our 1st song, the power was cut and we can't hear our instruments, even the microphone was cut but the only thing that still has an electricity were the drum mics. After how many minutes the power was fixed and played the songs again til the end. So after our performance some of my bandmates thought it was a set up because we all know that we have the judges eyes on us. But we're not sure until the show ended and we got 2nd runner up only, but its ok for because i thought we wouldn't get any place because our band was the only band the had a power cut. So because of that we thought we're robbed and until now we still think that we're robbed but we already moved on. LOL
So out of 13 bands we got 3rd place and its better than have nothing right? This coming SGEN battle of the bands 2012 our band was invited to have an intermission number. We want to join again but we can't because already won last year and they want us to perform to represent the bands that performed, and won last year.

Mentoring on the spot
"You are an irrational person just like me. We both think fast, like when writing we already finished reading the sentence in our mind but the hand is still writing. We are both thinkers, we analyze things first before talking, in everything we use our brain first and conduct an analysis then come up with a correct reason or statement."
Yesterday i talked about my church mentor and how he teaches me and help me with my problems. My church mentor helps me by giving advice that's coming from the Bible, in short teaching me in a Biblical way. Today its different, I had an on the spot mentoring from a friend. Monday night, I'am with Savipra Gorospe talking about life. He is a Psychology student in Sad Beda College that's why he knows many things in life, but to be honest we're talking about a girl and the psychologicals facts about them. I learned from him that girls balance things especially when it comes to liking a guy. The looks of a guys doesn't really matter to a girl as long as they have the 3 major things balanced, wealth, power and personality. It turned out that my personality is the lowest among the 3. Sav told me that its never to late and that i can still work on it, i just have to work on my confidence but to win the girl i like, i have to show that i'am dominant and that i have the power or that i'am in control.
Talking about it here will take me 3 blogs to finish this topic, bottom line is a had fun talking to Sav because everything he said about, girls, attitude, personality etc. all of them are true, that's why i asked myself why didn't i took Psychology? But 1 thing is for sure, i will work on my personality and add more on my power to get what i want.

My Church Mentor
"Always remember, it's the hardest time in life that teaches us the most valuable lessons, and forces us to realize what's really important. But why wait for difficulties to come before you learn, when Jesus could just ease all in your life while making you the best you can be? Try Him! Trust Him!"
These are the words of my mentor Jessie Alvarado for me today. Jessie has been my friend and mentor for 4 years...i think? or maybe more. He always reminds me about God and that He will never give up on me. He's the kind of mentor that gives an advice with a Bible verse, and most of the time i'm having this guilt feeling because most of the time i forget his advices and the worse is sometimes i don't listen to him. Not literally i mean, sometimes i listen to him but everything he said only passed through my ears and i just nod on whatever he says, i know he knows that. I feel guilty because he always listen to my problems and prays for me and i thank him for that.
We haven't talked for how many weeks because we were both busy. He's busy with his work and i'm busy with my school stuff. But today i talked to him but we didn't talk that much. I know he keeps on praying for me and i know he understands that i'm busy in school because im a graduating student, but i will surely talk to him again about my life because after i graduate i have lots of things to tell him.
I thank God for having a mentor like him, not just a mentor but a spiritual mentor and also a friend.

Fail day
Today is suppose to be the Rexona Fun Run in SM Mall of Asia. Kevin, Mei and I went there 5am in the morning to document the fun run because Mei needs it for her thesis and the run was said to start at 6am. We arrived at 6:00am in Mall of Asia and all the stall stalls are still close, so we decided to wait in Krispy Kreme and drink coffee there because we were so sleepy. We chatted for 1 hour and 30 mins and we didn't notice the time it's almost 8am but the run hasn't started yet. So Mei checked the official site of the fun run and found out that the run was moved tomorrow. Great!. #not
So we woke up at 5am in the morning and went to Mall of Asia like super early in the morning for nothing. I slept at around 1:30am and woke up 3:30am just so we can document the fun run. Well actually Mei didn't sleep at all because she has to do something very important. So she's more than 24 hours awake and went straight to the event without sleeping only to find that the run was moved on the next day. Literally all of us looked like a zombie looking for our tomb earlier. But even though we were tired, since we were inside mall of asia we decided to stay there and walk around a little until we get tired. Mei treated us in Tokyo Cafe just like what she promised. After eating we dropped Mei in her house so she can sleep, then me and Kevin went to our friend (Nick's house) to work on our own thesis. But we were so sleepy and exhausted to do our thesis so without knowing Kevin and I fell asleep at our friends bed. Our friend Nick woke us up because he needs to go somewhere, so Kevin and I went to a Cafe to seriously continue our thesis, Mei was also with us in that Cafe to help us but we can't access the internet.
In the end Kevin, Mei and I have done nothing on our thesis. We tried our very best to make this day very productive but we just exhausted ourselves for nothing in the end. A very very VERY FAIL DAY! So to relieve our stress and exhaustion we decided to just enjoy the night and eat and chit-chat in that cafe.
Lesson learned: I don't know, all i know is that this day is definitely not our day.

Mr. and Ms SGEN 2012
Credits to Farshad Behrouzi
Mr. and Ms. SGEN is held annually in Southville International School and Colleges. SGEN is a competition of all Southville's sister schools inculding Southville itself. Competing with their sister school is Southville's way of celebrating foundation day.
Tonight, Ethelbirth "Iggy" Ignacio and Jael Mendoza were crowned Mr. and Ms. SGEN 2012. They represented SISC and also their own courses. Iggy and Jael received a lot of special awards like best in speech, photogenic and a lot more. Iggy and Jael were Mr. and Ms. SISC 1st runner up that's why they were chosen to compete for the school including the Mr. and Ms. SISC winners Julio and Karina So. Its quite funny because in Mr. and Ms. SISC, Iggy and Jael got 1st runner up and Julio and Karina won in that pageant, but tonight Iggy and Jael got the crown for Mr. and Ms. SGEN 2012, while Julio and Karina got 1st runner up. It's like they planned it or talked to each other and said "ok so it's our turn to win this time because you guys won the last time" hahaha. But, Naahhh, it's not like that of course the competition was judged fair and square so we shouldn't be thinking like that. Also both partners deserve what they got in the pageant and they did their best to get what they have right now.
Congratulations Ethelbirth "Iggy" Ignacio and Jael Mendoza for winning Mr. and Ms. SGEN 2012!
