Today we have celebrated my youngest brother, Joshua's, 11th birthday. Quite frankly, we didn't plan on celebrating it this day. But we prepared one, anyway. And although everything was prepared like we had chased a bullet, everything went just fine! We did it all just for our "bunso", Joshua. But who is Josh anyway?
Josh, as I mentioned is the youngest of us 4 siblings. He turned 11 today. But not only in our family is he the youngest, but also among his classmates. See, as young as he is, he's on his 6th grade already at Academy of Jesus. Traditionally, kids at 11 are only at their 4th or 5th grade. But he's a little ahead of that.
Also, as everyone would agree, being the youngest has its perks. They always get the best from their parents. In most cases and as seen on TV, they're the spoiled ones in the family. And I think I'm starting to believe that because Josh who always gets the best of favors from our parents. Not that I'm jealous because I understand that he's our baby, our youngest and he won't be forever spoiled anyway. But part of being spoiled is ask anything he wants, whenever he wants it. Although he doesn't get them all, being the bunso, i must say he's got the best of guts to ask. And that's what brought about this party.
Originally, the plan was to celebrate it in the church. Everyone was in agreement including Josh until today, obviously. He had thought that he wanted to celebrate it with us, his family, exclusively before celebrating it with other people. And since that's not such a bad idea and in fact it was a good one, we prepared one. Although the call to celebrate was sudden and the preparations were rushed, everything went fine. The food tasted great, relatives came over too to celebrate with us (which is very rare). Everything was good.
I realized, if Josh hadn't been born today 11 years ago, if he hadn't been the youngest and he hadn't been as he is now, we might not have had this sudden celebration that turned out to be the one of the most worth remembering.
